Quiet Feed for LinkedIn

A Chrome extension that hides the LinkedIn feed so you can use LinkedIn without the endless scroll.

Privacy policy

Effective September 29, 2026 · applies to version 1.0.0 and later · daily time totals added in version 1.1.0

Short version: Quiet Feed for LinkedIn does not collect, sell or share any personal data. It makes no network requests. Your settings stay in your own Chrome profile. The daily time totals it keeps are stored only on your device, in browser storage, and are never sent or shared.

What the extension does

Quiet Feed for LinkedIn hides the home feed on www.linkedin.com and shows a short quote with links to Messaging, Notifications, Jobs and your profile. It can also hide sidebar news, puzzles, follow suggestions, promoted cards and "People you may know" on the feed page, and show how much time you have spent on LinkedIn today, this week and this month.

Data collection

The extension collects no data: nothing is sent to the developer or anyone else. It does not read, record or transmit your LinkedIn content, messages, profile, contacts, browsing history or any other personal information. The only thing it records is a daily total of time spent on LinkedIn, kept on your device as described below. It has no analytics, tracking, advertising or crash reporting.

Time on LinkedIn

When "Show time spent on LinkedIn" is on (it is on by default), the extension counts time while a www.linkedin.com tab is open, in front and in use. It stops counting after about 2 minutes without mouse, keyboard, scroll or touch input. It stores only one total per day, for example 42 minutes on 2026-09-29. It does not record which pages you visit, when you visit them, or what you see or do on LinkedIn.

These daily time totals are stored only on your device, in your browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local). They are never sent or shared, are not synced to other devices, and the developer cannot see them. Totals older than about 13 months are deleted automatically. Turning the switch off stops counting, "Clear history" on the options page deletes the totals, and removing the extension deletes them too.

Settings storage

Your preferences (which items to hide, whether to show a quote and your time on LinkedIn, and the end time of a 5-minute pause) are saved with chrome.storage.sync. Chrome keeps this data in your browser profile and, if you have Chrome sync turned on, syncs it between your own devices through your Google account. The developer cannot see or access it. Removing the extension deletes these settings.

Network requests

The extension makes no network requests of its own. It loads no remote code, and all quotes are bundled inside the extension. It runs only on pages at https://www.linkedin.com/*, where it changes what is displayed on your screen.
